Breathwork is an intervention tool used to access layers of the subconscious not readily accessible through our daily experiences. It allows the body to reach an altered state where Spirit takes lead and the vibrational frequency of the soul is discovered. What does this mean?

We develop patterns, or ways of living, over our lifetime that we tend to fall back into when life becomes unbalanced. For example, there may have been a traumatic event in our childhood that we may or may not remember. When something happens in our current age that evokes a similar emotion, our body will recognize it as that said trauma and react in the way we did when we were the age it occurred. Gabor Mate’ often says trauma is not the event itself but what happens inside of us as a result, the loss of connection to oneself and to the present moment.

Doing this form of breathwork allows one access to this place of lost connection and brings awareness to the current time to heal. When we can experience a felt sense of our internal disconnection from ourselves in a safe environment, we can better take care of ourselves when external stressors push against our center.
